The four-cornered debate : defining our roles in participatory actions
This activity is inspired by the training module « Supporting participatory dynamics », elaborated by members of the Train to Transform collective, which is a training course specifically dedicated to reinforcing the capacities of those in charge of accompanying participatory dynamics.
The suggested activity is a four-cornered moving debate named « everyone’s role in participatory actions ». This activity has multiple goals :
– Identifying the facilitator’s different possible postures based on the participants’ pratices ;
– Identifying the fact that these positions can evolve depending on the context and the group ;
– Identifying the fact that the roles can be shared with the membres of the collective is an icebreaker that allows the participants to live the individual and collective experience of a situation they have no control over.
The activity requires 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the number of participants.
Now, it’s your turn to try !
