Dissemination, appropriation, and valorization of pedagogical resources
Within the Train to Transform collective, the various working spaces (thematic groups, exchange visits, seminars, etc.) enable organizations to share a wide range of pedagogical tools and resources. These spaces also allow organizations to participate in co-production processes of educational materials. All these resources are also published on the Social Transformation Workshop platform.
It is therefore necessary to integrate into our exchanges a reflection on the use of resources shared by the organizations, in terms of dissemination and internal appropriation (within organizations and among the communities they support), as well as external valorization (within our networks and with our partners).
With this in mind, consultations were conducted with nine member organizations of the Train to Transform collective to map out their good practices to be shared with other members. A guide was thus produced to support organizations in developing strategies for better use of the resources created within the collective during the third phase of the program.
This booklet presents the definitions of the "Training for Transformation" collective regarding internal dissemination, appropriation, and external valorization of educational resources. In the second part of the booklet, examples of methods and tools shared by the organizations illustrate their good practices.
Definitions by the Train to Transform Collective
Disseminating pedagogical resources :
To share, make accessible, and inform about existing resources or what has been learned through exchanges within the Train to Transform spaces (working groups, co-production).
The dissemination of educational resources serves several purposes : To allow teams to understand the work carried out within the collective, so they are aware of the resources and their content. To contribute to capacity building within teams, by expanding knowledge and improving practices.
Appropriating pedagogical resources : To have a shared understanding of the resource, its concepts, tools, and key messages. To apply them in practice (appropriation happens during preparation and actual use). To internalize the resources for use. To know that the resource exists, think of it, and know how to use it.
→ This is when a resource becomes a working tool for the team. Elements of the pedagogical resources are integrated into their activities.
Valorizing educational resources : To make visible, raise awareness, and help others understand the work being done.
Valorization serves multiple purposes :
- Continuously improve our practices, based on feedback from other organizations. Raise awareness and visibility of the "Training for Transformation" collective.
- Exchange and collaborate with other partners to create opportunities for mutual learning and joint action.
- Promote our expertise to attract co-financing, secure funding, and identify new donors.
- Contribute to collective change at the territorial level. By sharing our resources and new knowledge, we participate in social transformation by enabling other organizations to use them.
