Collective Solidarity Actions in France

In 2023, Frères des Hommes experimented with the implementation of social transformation actions in France, involving teams of volunteers and young people in situations of vulnerability.

In Paris, volunteers, employees, and recently arrived young people in France collaborated to create three collective solidarity actions, in partnership with a community center located in a disadvantaged neighborhood.

By creating spaces and opportunities to act together (including vulnerable populations, volunteers, and employees),

we have strengthened our desire to take action, developed confidence in each individual’s and the group’s abilities, and learned from one another :

"These actions inspired me ; I want to continue doing them." (A young participant)

"For me, it was more complex than just doing a solidarity action. It helped young people feel included in something. And that’s already social change !" (A Frères des Hommes volunteer)

The attached document presents the actions carried out, the approach taken, and the questions it raised for Frères des Hommes in supporting this collective effort.
